`Pandora's Dance

Perhaps one of the most talked about sculptures during Ice Alaska 2000 was a piece by Akira Junuchi called: Pandora’s Dance.

Pandora’s Dance was an ambitious piece. One which when completed would stand almost four stories tall. Making it by far the largest sculpture of Ice Alaska 2000

Unlike any other contestants in the 2000 competion, Junuchi and his team decided to carve and assemble the entire upper section of their sculpture the ground . A feat that had never before been done on such a grand scale.

Enabling them to be able to create a level of detail that would be extremely difficult to duplicate while working on scaffolding.
