This is a thinly veiled reference to Iran’s connection to the
bombing of the Golden Mosque as well as their other operations in Iraq. There have been two recent articles that
indicate that the Iraqi government and its people are more than aware of Iran’s
doings in these matters and that there will be no civil war.
And we note as well Rumsfeld’s warning to Iran at the bottom of the quotes Iranian meddling in Iraqi affairs "is something they will look
back on as being an error in judgment." I
see in this that a decision has recently been made that Iraqi forces shall join
in the attack against Iran to strip it of its radical government, its export of
terrorism, and its nuclear program.
Rumsfeld says Tehran
government sending military to destabilize Iraq
PENTAGON Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says
members of the Iranian military have been slipping into Iraq to make trouble.
Rumsfeld says there's been steady, detectable traffic of
members of the military across the Iranian border to destabilize Iraq. He says "I doubt they're
religious pilgrims" and he believes the activity is taking place with the blessing of the
Tehran government.
Rumsfeld says, "I doubt members of the Revolutionary
Guard move around willy-nilly." (He is saying that these infiltrators are Iraniam special
forces units)
The solution would seem to be tightening up the border and
increasing patrols there, but Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Peter Pace says
that's an Iraqi job -- not one for Americans to handle on their own.
Rumsfeld did issue this warning -- he says Iranian meddling
in Iraqi affairs "is something they will look back on as being an error in
judgment."
