like Africa with AIDS scourge

BEIJING
(Reuters) - AIDS in China has spread beyond high risk groups such as injecting
drug users, prostitutes and homosexuals and the country is becoming "like
Africa" in how the virus is transmitted, a senior health official says.
"There are 190 new HIV infections every day (This is almost zero in a country with a population over 1
billion – so this figure may a typo and need a zero added at the end.) ... and one percent of all pregnant women in China are infected," said Hao
Yang, deputy director general of the bureau of diseases prevention and control
at the Ministry of Health.
In a
country in which we have read that they kill all women babies because of the
government’s long standing policy that families can only have 1 child and every
family wants a man to succeed them and continue the family lineage -- A year ago ago we read of a population
devoid of women and them men involving themselves in rampant gay sex – and the
rise of HIV and AIDS in china. And a second plague released in that country
because of their chronic shortage of women
– was wide spread kidnapping of married women even in their 60’s as
brides.
Now
we read of a third woe in that land -- that the greatest majority of (these
women is chronic short supply that are at child bearing age have now been
infected with HIV /AIDS.
The
population base in china particularly on the technical and manufacturing
sectors is about to go into a steep dive – so that it appears that China is
rotting and withering within. And will more than likely diminish as a threat in
the coming decades as its population dies back at an unprecedented rate.
That
is not to say that they pose a grave threat at the moment. So it appears that in this the population of
Christians as they increase and their women and households are shielded from
this plague will rise significantly as a percentage of china’s population base.
The
Lord spoke that in China the Christians would become free to practice as
the towns and provinces of Muslim over
thrown increase -- and I see that these
plagues and judgments against that , land and people are working towards that
end.
"That is a very high percentage. It
is a generalized epidemic," he told Reuters in an interview.
"We're
now like Africa. Last year, we found that 48 percent
of those who were newly infected contracted the disease from sex, (The 48 percent apparently being mostly women) so it's not a disease that afflicts only high-risk
groups."
Africa has the
world's highest number of HIV/AIDS sufferers and the virus is spread mostly
through heterosexual sex. (Because the continued
practice of men and women over there of having sex with multiple partners )
To combat the
problem, it is now mandatory for all entertainment spots in China (These would be mostly in the cities) to make
condoms available and methadone clinics have mushroomed all over the country to
help Heroine addicts kick the habit. (Speaking of
the Afghan poppy crop the largest in the world – and heroine being a major product
of that crop.)
Hao said for
China's 650,000 people living with AIDS, (These are
only those who are under treatment – the number of unreported cases are
probably much higher. We say that because
a .05 percent of the population in china that was considered a grave
national threat – in times past would have been quickly rounded up and
executed. If this mumber is somewhere between 3-5 percent with its habitual
promiscuity – the entire population is at risk – and the title and quotes in
this article of aids in China making the nation like Africa make perfect sense.
In Africa there has been a reported die back in most nations were aids is
rampant of 30%
In
China that would be 300,000,000 three hundred million But because of their
chronic shortage of women it is hard to say what will likely occur.
All
we can note here is that that it is completely uncharacteristic of china to
speak over the counter of anything like this.
first-line drugs had managed to prolong lives
but some sufferers were beginning to develop resistance -- partly because they
are unaware of the importance of keeping to strict drug regimens.
The HIV virus
mutates rapidly and patients who fail to take antiretroviral drugs in the right
amounts or at the right time will soon develop resistance -- something that is
happening all- too-frequently in China, activists say.
"So
many patients are just taking the drugs haphazardly. Doctors have to spend time
to explain to patients how crucial it is to keep to the regimens if they want
to preserve their lives," said Meng Lin, an AIDS activist in Beijing.
He
added that some 60 village doctors were gathered in Beijing this week to listen
to the needs of people living with HIV at a forum organized by the World Health
Organization.
People
on HIV drugs tend to develop resistance after some years and would need
"second line" medicines, but there are very few of such stronger
medicines available in China.
Often, Chinese
sufferers find themselves having to choose between putting up with the awful
side effects of these drugs, or die.
"We have to prepare for this.
We are now discussing with foreign companies. In a short time, we will sign
some accords with these companies to bring in these drugs," Hao said.
Beijing was talking with companies
such as Abbott and Gilead Sciences Inc. to bring in second line drugs, Hao
said. Abbott Laboratories Inc. makes a key second-line drug called Kaletra.
Beijing and Abbott are now hammering
out the price, which Hao said was still too high for China and he called on the
company to pay heed to its "social responsibility".
Beijing provides free HIV drugs for
its citizens, but non-government groups say only very few benefit from that
policy.
HIV/AIDS became a major headache for
China in the 1980s and 1990s, when hundreds of thousands of impoverished
farmers became infected through botched blood-selling schemes.
Although this practice has since
been stopped, it has left behind some 75,000 orphans, some of whom are also
infected. (But these are all grown up now –and are
now in the marriage pool) Those who aren't will probably live under
a long, dark shadow of stigma for the rest of their lives. (This says that Chinese country folk do not socialize and
marry those who’s family is known to have members with aids in it. – so this
lends to many cases in these areas being kept unreported. Or they move to the
cities.)
