Altering the Gospel

Isaiah 5:18-21 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:  That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

Woe into them that drag iniquity as if it were a pull toy, and sin as if were a child’s wagon with a rope. They say let God make speed, and hasten his work, so that we can play with it. We want God’s counsel now so that we can be entertained. Woe unto them that change My counsel to suit themselves, calling good evil and evil good. Woe unto them that package together light and darkness choosing of both what they want, and like small children discarding whatever they don’t want or what won’t play by their rules.

Have we not been guilty of selecting the pieces of the Gospel for ourselves that we like and discarding others that either don’t interest us, or that we don’t like? In so doing have we not set ourselves up as God, and using our inherent knowledge from the tree of good and evil to pick and choose the way we want our God to serve us?

This was the sin of the Early Church that caused them to lose to glory of the Lord. And this is yet the sin of the Church today that prevents us from recovering the glorious gospel that was once delivered unto those that were sanctified.

We have falsely believed that by our moving from one gospel to another gospel is bringing us closer and closer to the truth.  But in our dissecting and reassembling the truth what we are actually doing is dividing up the word of God. 

The Bible give harsh warnings too him who would add to the words of this book . . . And the Bible warns of everlasting destruction to him who would remove words from this book , , , This is very dangerous stuff, and yet the preachers of our hour cavalierly do this everyday. 

For those who God has removed the veil over their hearts and minds in this passage we can clearly see a clear explanation of how the Early Church fell from grace.

Deuteronomy 1: 23 –43  “And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you (Think Apostles), and they went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley, and searched it (Think Kingdom of heaven). And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us the word again, and said, It is good which the LORD our God doth give us. (They brought us the gospel of the kingdom with demonstration and power)  Notwithstanding ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God: (We see this rebellion in the Epistles) And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, (God only wants to punish us and make us suffer) he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, (Pulled us out of our worldly comforts) to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites (Evil and corrupt men) to destroy us. Our brethren (False brethren false teachers) have discouraged our heart, saying, (The task of walking in the Spirit and preaching the Gospel is too great) The people of the world are greater and more powerful than we are; their cities (Their society and philosophies) are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the giants there. (Their powerful philosophers, teachers of science and their ungodly rulers) Then I said unto you, dread not, neither be afraid of them. The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes; And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place. (even after having personally seeing the miracles and power of God in your behalf and my making specific and personal promises to you, you still refused to believe) Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God, And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, Surely there shall NOT ONE of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers. Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it. But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea. Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them. Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies. So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill. And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you. And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you. So ye abode in the wilderness many days, according unto the days that ye abode there.

I see so much in these words I am stunned. I am taken aback and humbled. Why is the power of God not with the Church today?  It is more than a case of unbelief as some have supposed – horrible and greivieous sins were committed against the Lord in the first and second centuries. And in his wrath God swore that none of those people would enter in to his promises. I confess that what I see and understand are mere glimmers. My mind is too finite and dull to grasp the whole – what I see pains my heart and my spirit. And the knowledge that the enemy has successfully perpetuated the sin and doctrines within the so called Church for the last 1800 years with most Christians acting as the devil’s willing accomplices to spread his filth and corruption is almost too much emotionally to handle.

Will this be the generation that enters into the promises of God or will God have to look to another again?

I fear that the Church of this day with its manifold teachings and seminars, its many programs gauged to most every need, and its great evangelistic endeavors  has become in its own eyes rich increased with all manner of goods and in need of nothing. 

I fear that the Church with its historic revivals of last few centuries has become an idol unto itself .

I fear that as in the book of Daniel the Lord is poised with a rod of steel to small the Idol that Christianity has become and grind it to powder and let it be blown away in the four winds

I fear that none has the heart to repent for their sins and the sins of their fathers. I fear that none has the burden as a king and priest unto God to bear the sins of the Body of Christ.

I fear that calamity and judgment shall fall upon the Church such has never been seen since the beginning of time nor in Israel as the Lord separates the Church from its lust of the flesh, its love of the things of the world, its roving eye for lust and all the doctrines and traditions it has forged in the fires of hell in the last 1800 years.

The Lord shall have a remnant, the Lord shall have a people who are holy and blameless before him. And for many it shall not come because they fell before the stone and were broken but they shall be chosen out of the furnace of much affliction.

What is the day of the Lord that any should desire it? It is a time of great darkness. The sun shall be clothed with sackcloth, the moon shall no longer give its light, and the stars of the heavens shall cease their shining. The earth shall wander out of its appointed rotation around the sun and stagger like a drunken man. The times and seasons shall be cut off, and the fields and trees shall not give their yield. For men have corrupted the earth and all of my creation, and the Church has played the harlot lusting after all the corruption of the world.  Therefore I will cleanse the earth and purge from the Church of all of her iniquities with the sound of trumpets and the pouring out of vials will I cause them to drink from their cup of iniquity to full measure.
