Ye Are Gods?

Someone I know was recently reading some articles on this website and coming one one of our articles concerning heretical teachings concerning Christ’s blood and Christ’s death on the cross not being able to redeem us. She was quite stunned and decided privately not to simply accept our word for these charges that were leveled against what has been openly taught by Kenneth Hagin Kenneth Copeland and the myriad of their word of faith clones.

So in obedience to God’s word she decided to: 1Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things and rightly seek there matters out for herself to see if these things be so.  So she went online, and apparently some enterprising fundamentalists have put together some websites that now include audio clips and video clips of Hagin, Copeland and some of their clones preaching and teaching everything damnable heresy we spoke and many other things that are equally disturbing.

This person wrote me that one of the most disturbing things that they found among these Hagin and Copland audio and video clips was their preaching and teaching that they were gods.  In reflecting on our conversation I felt of the Lord to respond to this particular issue.

John 10:33-35 The Jews (This was one of the many religious schools listed in the Gospels like the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes and the Lawyers, all of which had seats on the Sanhedrin.) answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; (First we should note to whom Christ is speaking this. – We need here to ask also, Are these “deeper life” and “word of faith” people going to also embrace for themselves in this same passage Christ’s rebuke to the Scribes and Pharisees? – Not on your life. Because these all have an unspoken rule that is contrary to the whole of scripture that is: All that is good and kind and all the blessings God or Christ spoke are theirs.  And all the bad and harsh things and curses that God and Christ spoke , well those are for the unsaved or someone else.)

This is utterly contrary to how Christ rebuked and chastised the apostles, this is contrary to Christ speaking to the seven churches in revelation.

Hebrews 12:5-7And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (What is taught in the bible believing churches of this hour is largely fantasy. – Rather than teach the uncompromising word of God -- these men and women preach and teach how they want their God to be.)

Christ observed this same kinds of teachings between the different schools of bratty rabbis 2000 years ago, and today we have much the same activity among  bible believing churches.

Luke 7:32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept. (Its all about manipulation and control)

This notion about all the blessing of God are for us and all the curses of God are for some one else is also contrary to the way God spoke to Israel in the wilderness when they were all chosen to be kings and priests before him of them one man understood by the Spirit what God meant except Joshua who abided by Moses and the tabernacle continually – As with the children in the wilderness the Lord gave opportunity for the people not to seek him up close and personally but from afar Christ also gave his disciples and all those that heard him the opportunity to not seek him up close and personally but from afar so that the sheep might be manifest from the goats. So that when God put wards and markers around the mount Joshua followed Moses up the mount beyond the place that Aaron and the Elders perched themselves and when God by sin forbade all of Israel to approach the tabernacle except Moses and the priests Joshua abided by the tabernacle even when Moses when home to his wife and tent. – This things I was not taught in bible school or by books or by tapes but I speak that which I have heard of the Lord as it is to be for all that follow after Him and seek the Lord with all their heart.

So when Christ spoke to the party that called themselves “The True Jews” And said ye are god’s we see that none of the Apostles understood that Christ was teaching his people entering into God-ship or becoming Co-Gods with God and Christ

Psalm 82:1-6 God standeth in the (Midst of  the) congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the (People that would declare or show themselves to be) gods. 2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. 3 (Have I not commanded you to) Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. 5 (Yet these who would call themselves gods and show themselves to be gods among the people) They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth (The foundations of the congregation) are out of course. 6 I have said, (Gross Translator Error! Have I ever said) Ye are gods; (To those who say there are God’s or shew themselves to be gods among the congregation) and (Much less to) all of you are children of the most High. (In the congregation)??? (The answer is a resounding NO!!!)

Exodus 22:28 Thou shalt not revile the gods (Hebrew Elohim Genesis Let US make man in OUR image), nor curse the ruler of thy people. (This referring to The Angel of the Lord –that was leading them in the wilderness.) – Psalm 82 is mistakenly linked to this passage)

Exodus 23:20-21 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

Genesis 3:5 (serpent) For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And shall begin judging everything according to your own eyes and corrupt hearts)

It was the serpent in Genesis that first suggested that by eating of the fruit that the woman might attain to Godhood and become co-equal with The Most High and rule and judge as He.  She apparently did not like the order the household, and sought to circumvent Adam in her relationship with God.  So that we can see that there was a perversion in the heart of the woman in this very area that the serpent played at. And rather than being horrified by this evil and perverse suggestion, the woman was enthralled with the though of herself being so elevated.

Psalm 82:7 But(Therefore) ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. (The angels that followed the serpent)

Here plainly God declares that all that would present themselves as gods or show themselves to be gods and all that would follow them shall be fall unto destruction as the devil and all his angels.

The Apostle John declares these Anti-Gods (Those who would stand in the place of God) to be Anti-Christs (Those who would stand in the place of Christ.)

Knowing these very things
all the writers of the Epistles including the Apostles take no special honor upon themselves regarding themselves and their position in the body of Christ and so they address themselves as ministers and servants of Christ
