The Meno
of Abiding (Part 1)
If you have not read Rebekah the Savior of Israel it would be advised that you to do so, as much in this article
is related to issues spoken of in that article.
Recently I received an e-mail newsletter
from a deeper life ministry containing an article on John 8:31-32. Normally
I tend to have little desire to read such things these days. I was about
to delete it when I felt checked in my spirit. I knew of this fellowship
and its preacher through a mutual friend, but I had never met them or
been to their fellowship, which should be of little surprise to any
who have read articles written on this site.
As I thumbed thought this newsletter I came to the
“featured article” which had been penned by some other preacher
associated with this deeper life ministry. What caught my eye was
the Greek words the writer used in the opening paragraphs and how the
definitions of these words that were that he had placed in “quotes.” Definitions that this had preacher knowingly
inserted his own words into, in order to help him to be able to speak
things that were neither in the KJV text nor in the original Greek.
I was a bit bothered by this technique employed by
this preacher. (Sadly this practice is all
too common. –And is generally
employed to redefine biblical terms to suit one’s religious agenda.)
So I put that aside for the moment and read on, wondering
what the Lord was seeking to draw my attention to in this article. As I read the next few paragraphs I was
appalled when this writer again appealed to the Greek in a second bible passage, and this time
he was all the more flagrant with his insertions in “quotes” completely
skipping the Greek definitions altogether and this time inserting only
his own words in what was clearly designed to deceive the reader into
believing their were given the true meaning of these words.
He had no doubt done so purposely, as he knew the Greek in this
case “was a dry well” as to what he was teaching.
At that point I felt compelled by the Lord to write on this text
and respond to certain assertions made by this writer in his article.
The first quote from this
article we will cite is as follows:
”In
John 8:31 Jesus says, If ye continue in my word ye are my disciples
indeed. The word "Continue" signifies “to abide,
or to dwell, consciously and willfully. (These two words have nothing to do with the actual or implied
Greek definition of the word continue.)” Thus, we have a “purposeful”
and “aggressive action” as opposed to a passive and indifferent attitude.”(We
see here in this, that his teaching reflects only his insertions)
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue (Greek Meinete) in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed;
Before we look at the Greek, as readers of this site are aware the
Lord has given us great revelation in recent days concerning the Mishnah
/ Talmud and its continuing influence upon the church of this hour.
The Lord has also opening up unto us that both John the Baptist, and Jesus Christ’s
were at all out war on the Mishnah / Talmud and its disciples. In light of this we need to comment here that
the word “Jews” here is not used in the Gospels of “The Children
of Israel” but rather it was used of the members of another competing
rabinical school. Here we read of a sect of Israelites that called
“The Jews” no doubt meaning that they were the “True Jews” (These would seem to have been
more conservative in their views) In another passage they gladly except Christ declaring the Pharisees
to be corrupt and hypocritical in their teachings. In that same passage
we read that a number of their followers were also desirous of following
Christ. Showing that there was not a
uniform opinion of Christ among the schools who’s heads sat upon the
Sanhedrin (What we mention here is significant
to the passage cited above – as to our understanding here who Christ
is speaking these words to.)
Moving on now to the Greek,
the word Continue in the Greek is "Meinete" or "Meno" which in the Greek Lexicon is defined as: To Dwell, To Lodge, To Sojourn. --Also we will mention here that the word “Meinete” is 2 Person =You,
Plural = All, “Meinete” is in the Aorist-1 Tense = Occurring once and for all, or At a point of time, and
“Meinete” is also Subjective = So that this "Dwelling”
or “Abiding" Is Not Definite,
But A Possibility.
Without giving a long
“rambling” discussion covering ground we have spoken of already in several
other articles, we will only say that Almost without except the words
in the Greek New Testament have their origin and are defined in the
Greek Septuagint. We will mention here once again that the Greek
Septuagint was the bible that Christ, and Paul the Apostle used. And many of their
quotes are directly from the text of the Greek Septuagint. – So
as part of any one’s study of Greek words they must go beyond the Concordance
and Greek Lexicon definitions typically used, and look up these words
directly in the Greek Septuagint, and in so doing many times they will
find a better, a truer, and a more exact definition of these words than
they would find in a typical Concordance or Greek Lexicon.
By my count the Greek word Meno
is used some 55 times in the Greek Septuagint.
In Genesis 24:55 we find the first use of this word:
Genesis 24:55 And her brother and her
mother said, Let the damsel (Rekekah) abide (Meno) with
us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.
Here we see that the word Meno does
not carry the meaning in the Greek Lexicon (Which is not uncommon) Here
Rebekah already clearly dwells with her family, and yet her
family asks that she might "Abide" or "Stay" with them. What they are seeking here is that Rebekah would stay: “Under their rule”, or stay
“Under
the influence of Laban and her Mother. (This same thing
also occurred with Abraham when his father and Lot “Abided” with him and were seeking to influence and have decision making power
over what God was speaking to Abraham.) In this case of the redemption
of Rebekah, her scheming mother and brother
upon seeing the wealth of Abraham that was presented,
wanted more time to negotiate further over the bride for the son of
promise. And these “hirelings” were summarily
denied any further right to continue their self-serving discipleship,
shepherdship, or rulership, over the bride.
Once the bracelets were
clasped upon Rebekah’s wrists she was no longer
of the house of Laban and her Mother. She
had been purchased; she had been redeemed in the name of the son of
promise by the nameless self-less servant. And she was now placed under
his watch and care until the hour in which she was to be delivered without
spot and wrinkle to the son of promise. So she was no longer allowed
to “Meno” "To Stay, or To
Continue” under the corrupt rule or corrupt influence of
the house of Laban and her Mother.
Here Meno is better understood as one being: "Under Tutors and Governors"
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those (In the rabbinical order of the)
Jews which believed on him, (Had
His bracelets clasped upon their wrists) If ye continue (Meinete To leave the Meno of the house of
Laban, and dwell under My rulership or influence)
in (The house of)
My word, then are ye my disciples indeed; (Whether they understood Christ words here or not, Christ was saying
here: You can not belong to the rabbinical order of the Jews and be
My disciple.)
Genesis
45:9 Haste ye, and go up to my father,
and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph,
God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, and tarry (Meno) not. (In the land of famine.)
In this second passage, we see
again that Meno again
means something different than “To Dwell,
To Lodge, To Sojourn" as stated in my Lexicon. Here while it is translated
"To Tarry" we see that the meaning from the context means something
more than "To Wait” or "To Continue.” First in this passage the issue was not one
of “Dwelling, Lodging
or Sojourning” in a fixed place or location.
Rather Joseph has been made a Lord and as the fulfillment of
his prophetic dream Israel
and all of his household are to come and “Meno”
Joseph. That is that they are to come away from”, or
“come out of”” the house of another, that
they might come under the rulership and under the influence
of the house of Joseph, whom the Lord had raised above
them. So in that regard between
these two passages we see the true meaning of “Meno.” That “Meno” does
not have the idea of being bound to a geographical location, but rather
being or coming under the rule or authority of someone.
To contrast this we now will briefly discus the Greek word
katoikein – which is the word for
“To
Dwell or Where One Live, or Where One Abides” This
word is used well over a hundred times in the Septuagint.
A
sample passage is:
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness
and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell (Katoikein) in the house of the LORD forever.
Now we will attempt to address what the writer of this
article has asserted in the first quotation we have cited. That
the word "Continue" signifies
"To abide or To dwell Consciously and Willfully.”
Within the above quotation marks the writer first
declares the incorrect textbook meaning of the word “continue.” – On this point we will not
rail against him, because the majority of those who call themselves
teachers or preachers either have no knowledge of Greek or Hebrew whatsoever,
or cursorary at very best. So
these preachers and teachers feed their flocks with approximates, approximates
from Strongs’ Concordance, Approximates from
Vines Word Studies or some where else giving their hearers the impression
they have some expertise and competence in what they do not. And this
is one of the ways that so much false teaching and false doctrine is
perpetuated.
This dealing in approximates (Or
lying, cheating, or stealing) is not limited to a single
area but it in fact tends generally to be a lifestyle. The life of King
Saul is especially instructive in these areas. Saul was called, chosen,
and anointed of God. – These things are not debatable. God also poured
His Spirit out upon Saul similarly to the 70 elders in the wilderness
with Moses. God declared the would make Saul into a new man, and scripture
notes that Saul did become a new man but Saul like the ministry today
was beholden to the people rather than to God. And Saul finding himself
woefully short in many area’s to conduct the
office he had been given did not like Samuel or Moses fall before the
Lord and cleave unto the Lord so that if God did not speak or do something
that they would ride the ship down.
Saul instead was a man of action and demonstration (We would call this today showmanship or being an entertainer)
and in order to keep his audience happy Saul had to do a lot of approximates,
(We would call these today shortcuts or
quick fixes.) To be
“The friends of men” requires approximates. But whosoever foists these
approximates upon the children of God, the same becomes the enemy of
God.
And this is one of the ways that so much false teaching
and false doctrine is perpetuated.
James
4:4 Ye
adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that
the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world
is the enemy of God. (We need to
ask here who is the world
that James is speaking of? The answer is the ungodly and those
that are un-Christ like.)
We will mention here that most preachers today take
no pains or make little effort in searching out what they teach. Among
the majority of preachers and teachers today there is a woeful sloppiness
in their bible study techniques, there is a woeful sloppiness in their
prayer lives, and a woeful sloppiness in their being discipled unto
the Lord.
Some assemblies have come to some grasp of this – and
to combat this they no longer accept Pastoral candidates from off the
street (Having met the Lord in a powerful way and being on fire for
God) nor do they except candidates from some one year or two year bible
school (That are more hands on and Scripturally based.), Instead they
instead actively seek out those with DD’s.
And invariably what they end up getting is a sophisticated wolf
in sheep’s clothing that is well trained so that he speaks his lies
and approximates all the more smoothly.
On a small aside here:
1 Corinthians 5:9-11 I wrote unto you in an
epistle not to company (Sun-Ana-Mignousthai To mix together,To mingle oneself with, To associate with.[Paul is citing here Ezekiel 20:18 And I
said to their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the traditions
of your fathers and keep not their ordinances and have no fellowship
with their practices, nor defile yourselves with them. Paul is declaring
that this is the passage that Christ is citing in: Luke 11:44-46 Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves
which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
Then
answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also. (While they
loved Christ giving the Rabbinical School of the Pharisees a drubbing,
they understood the meaning of the words of Christ here that if they
were to have any fellowship, association, of business dealings with
the Pharisees they themselves would be defiled.
And this saying
greatly dismayed them for they understood
that in order to obey this saying that they would have to abandon their
seat on the Sanhedrin that the Pharisees led. Similarly
the rich young ruler was stymied by his having to give up his
great wealth from which sincerely he wanted to be a wealthy philanthropic
patron of Christ – to which Christ replied that those that would seek
to do so would be barred from the kingdom of heaven. Here now Christ
declares to any of those in these Rabbinical Schools that had any notion
that they could use their office to be a philanthropic patron of Christ
(To the Glory of God) would also be barred from the kingdom of heaven.
And to follow Him, these men needed to cast aside their seats of authority
that were linked with the Pharisees illegal
and corrupt rule. [Their
having obtained the seat of Moses from the wife of Alexander the Great.]
Today
this is equated to the works of the Christian Coalition, Doctor James
Dobson and other unscriptural Christian lobbyists and lobbying organizations.) with fornicators: Yet not
(I did not mean for you to cut off yourselves) altogether with the fornicators
of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners,
or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of (A preach to, company with and eat with) the world (As Christ Himself did in the Gospels to the consternation
of the Scribes and Pharisees etc. – but in disobedience to Christ the
church as it fell began to systematically separate itself from those
who they had been sent to and live in Monasteries, Christian communes
or communities, By having church splits, and having one’s children attend
Christian schools.) But
now I have written unto you (to
correct any such though and to restate what I meant from the beginning.
That you are) not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother (Lokking back now to Paul linking
Luke 11:44-46 to
Ezekiel 20:18 we clearly see that Paul
is speaking of the Pharisees and their Talmudic Christian disciples
here. So that if any one of these “Talmudic Brethren” whether they be
a he or a she) be a fornicator,
or covetous, or an idolator, (The Pharisees had moved their idols from being of wood and
stone to a discipling to themselves and to
their Rabbinical order and of the written word.) or a railer,
or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such
an one no not to eat. (Here Paul
clearly states we are not to cut ourselves from being in the company
or eat with the company of fornicators, the covetous extortioners
and Idolitors as longer as they are unsaved.)
However if they are “Talmudic
Believers” that would identify themselves as “True Brethren” (Seeking the preeminence over others) And they are a fornicator, or covetous – Those who love and enrich
themselves with the things of this world, and or preach and teach so. or an idolator, Those who disciple themselves to a man, ministry, or denomination,
by coming under submission to any of these and taking them as their
covering. The Apostle Paul warns of this exact thing in: Acts 20:30 Also
of your own selves [From the midst of the
church] shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples
after themselves, or a railer, One that is given to
anger, prejudice, Or one who preaches and teaches men the hatred of
the Scribes and Pharisees (Aka
their Talmudic writings.) or a drunkard, This is not one
who drinks alcohol, beer, or wine, in
moderation or even becomes tipsy or drunk –This is a drunkard who has
become enslaved to drink and drunkenness or an extortioner This is another angle
of the prosperity gospel in which believers are extorted into paying
tithes and offerings of money to ministers and their ministries because
if they do not so they and their households and their relatives will
not be blessed by God –aka they shall be cursed.
Paul declares there that any who either do these things or seek to
do these things – they are the enemies of God. Or in the words of
Christ they are wolves (Or Pharisees) in sheep’s clothing.
Speaking once more to bible study habits, over the
past 35 years I have come to know a number of preachers from a variety
of different denominations and In my youth
by God’s grace I was allowed to sit with them in their studies and offices
as they prepared their messages. And what I saw them do was revamping
either older sermons of theirs, modifying someone else’s messages, using
someone else’s bible study notes, taking stuff from some other peoples
books or taped messages – In one case an anointed Evangelist/teacher
used to laugh as he prepared to teach what he called “Leftovers.” (In
Isaiah God calls these preachings and teachings
“filth and vomit.”
I remember the anticipation I had being allowed to
sit in these preachers’ offices, wanting to see them as they prayed,
wanting to see them as they waited before the Lord to hear a fresh word,
wanting to feel the anointing and closeness they had with God. – Most
of these preachers talked a good game from the pulpit in their sermons
about waiting on God, having to personally hear from God, and speaking
a word in season, – but the reality of this was NONE of these pastors
in my sight ever prayed or waited on God for a word. – No anointing
ever fell in their offices. And
as they studied there was no fellowship with God in Spirit. Many spoke of this “As a chore,” or a duty in
which they were forced to come up with something for this service or
that meeting. So that the majority of what they ended up putting together
were in regards to what they had been thinking about on and off the
week before or they would cobbling together through some combination
of rummaging through old notes, study books, or other people’s stuff.
And yet back then I also was then able to observe them
in the meetings as they taught and preached.
I saw that in most cases their words were anointed, and after
these meetings invariably people would come up to these men and women
and would tell them how great their messages were, how what they had
spoken had really spoke to them personally, how their were spiritually
ministered to, or how these preachers and teachers had answered questions
that they had.
Later when I went to Bible School I also had by God’s
grace been given the opportunity to observe the teacher’s and guest
preachers prepping for meetings, At times I was allowed to sit an hour
or more silently watching and listening as they put together a sermon
or a teaching. Looking back The Lord purposely took me places and allowed
me to see things that few others see (And
this was at some cost, as in my doing this I earned the ire and resentment
of quite a few students.) For the most part I found that practices of these
teachers mirrored much of what I had seen in other preachers and teachers
before. Specifically that is none sought the Lord for what they were
to speak. None of them waited on God as they put together their notes.
God did not manifest himself as they studied, and there was no discernable
fellowship in Spirit so they
too in my sight would putting something together based on what
they had been thinking about on and off in the last day or two or they
would cobble together through some combination of old notes, study books,
or other people’s stuff.
Truthfully at the time I was not consciously disappointed, as I had
come to understand that this is how things were done. But in my spirit
I was hungering for something more, something deeper, and something
closer to God, so I continued searching even though I was not really
conscious of what was going on..
I finally found what I was seeking in some old timers
in their 70’s 80’s and 90’s
(Brother Sexton, Brother and Sister Finn, Sister Wertz,
Brother Maupin, Brother Hoyer and a few others.) These men and women
were markedly different, as they walked with God moment by moment. As
they prepared to minister they would wait on the Lord, and as they would
do so the anointing would come in their room or office.
They sought God for what to speak and the Lord would powerfully
speak to them. Just sitting silently as they studied waited or prayed
was wonderful. And they were eager for young people to have such an
interest not in them but in the Lord. And in a way I can see that this
is the place where the Lord has brought me.
Few articles that I write are written in a day or afternoon.
Few are written even in a week. Most articles take me weeks,
and this one so far has taken about two months to write. I am at the beck and call of the Lord for what
to write and speak and not the reverse. And I need to say here that
this is the place that the Lord desires each and every one of His children
to be, this personal hearing and personal knowledge of God is the perpetration
for the end time. Not all the other pattern oriented teachings that
are heralded by populist teachers.
Over the years also the preachers and teachers I spoke
of left to their own devices would tell me that message didn’t matter
as much as the anointing. Others would stress being about to enter into
a prophetic state while they preached where they could speak things
higher than themselves, others would say that the words that they spoke
did not matter at all they were merely little dump trucks or vehicles
that could carry the anointing to their hearers.
But we know from scripture and from Christ and the
Apostles that these notions are utterly false. We know that the Christ
to his Apostles, and the Apostles to the early church had precise teachings
and that any deviation from those set truths anointed of not were false
and to be shunned.
2
Timothy 2:15-17 Study to shew thyself
approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: (This is Paul’s
definition of teaching that is not approved or directed by God. And
the words of those who either do not, or are not able by the Spirit
to rightly divide the word of truth.) for they (Their corrupt words and teachings.) will (cause an) increase unto more ungodliness (In them and their hearers). And their word(s) will eat as doth a canker (cancer): of whom is Hymenaeus
and Philetus; (Two
noted false teachers of the day.)
Galatians
1:6-10 I
marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the
grace of Christ unto another (Eteron Some other, or
Different)
gospel: Which is not another (Allo To change, To alter, To transform – Which cannot transform – As Christ is not its guarantor or administrator.); but there be some that trouble
(Tarassontes To agitate,
To trouble with fear, To terrify) you, and would
pervert the gospel of Christ. But though
we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that
which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let
him be accursed. (This
“being accursed” goes not only to the preacher, but to their hearers
as well. – And as we have
spoken before the plethora of Gospels
that are being preached, in Word of Faith circles, in Deliverance circles,
in Evangelical circles, Fundamentalist circles, in Pentecostal circles,
and in Charismatic circles – is NOT the Gospel that Christ or Paul preached. They may use
some of the words or some of the verses but the terms and terminology
that these use has been altered to suit these churches, these ministries,
and denominations purposes to draw disciples after themselves and to
addict men to their ministries and teachings – and this is at great variance with God
and Christ. – Paul here declares these are all without excuse and will stand
accursed before God. And in that hour Christ shall sit upon His throne and say why
did you not read my words and if you did not understand my words why
did you not imitate my actions, and these shall stand speechless and
the Lord shall say depart from me ye workers of iniquity for I never
knew you. And He shall cast them out into eternal darkness where there
shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
– My friends the time of entertainment and games is over. The
time of repentance is at hand. Be no more deceived, be no more partakers
of this evil, this is the hour of those that would seek to walk uprightly
before the Lord to stand up and be counted.
So
moving back now to our discussion of the base article here now we have
an article in which a bible teacher tells us that the Greek word for
continue (Meno) carries implicit
in its definition that it is "Conscious" and "Willful" in nature. My friends this is both dishonest,
and misleading. This is dishonest because this teacher has purposely
made these “critical word insertions” to bolster
and justify words he wanted to teach, that are neither in the KJV, nor
in the meaning of word for “Continue”
in the original Greek. – Intentional or not this Vain
Babblings. This is feeding
the flock of God with approximates. And these are the marks
of vessels and ministries of dishonor.
The word Meno as already demonstrated has nothing
to do with “A Mental State” or
one “Being Conscious" or
one making a “Conscious Choice.” Nor has it anything to do with any
"Willfulness," of one’s
personal desires, one’s will, or one’s wants. We need to realize
that Christ has no room for our personal desires, our wants, or our
willfulness. And elsewhere in speaking of the man Adam and
his creation out of common dirt, – we have spoken to the fact that God
has no need of arrogant dirt.
For one to “Meno”
requires little or nothing. One
can “Meno”
when they are asleep, or one can “Meno” while they are unconscious. Thus a slave
in chains can “Meno,” and even an ox being a creature of humble
understanding can pull a plow in a field can “Meno”.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls.
To take His yoke upon us, and to learn of Him, is to
learn of His meekness, and it is learn of and partake of His lowliness
of heart. – This is utterly
different than having one’s walk built upon the twisted and warped foundation
of “Conscious Choice” and “Willfulness” of the flesh. And this is despite however
“good” the intentions of men might be in their making these. The problem
with the church is that it has been in the hands of sinful men making
“Conscious Choices” and “Willfully”
doing things since its fall in the second century. In truth the Church of today church filled to overflowing with all
of these works of the flesh so much so that there is little or no
room for God even in the groups that consider themselves the most spiritual.
Believers today are so addicted to the these snake oil salesmen, with
their spiritual dog and pony shows, that if all this were to suddenly
cease – you would see what is spoken of in 2 Thessalonians
2:3 The great falling away occur.
2
Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that
man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
As we have spoken many times
before that when the Antichrist shall rise –he shall seek to destroy
all these little Antichrists and all their little Houses of the Antichrist,
so that at the end of this age brick and mortar churches shall cease,
there shall be no more pews, the continual false sacrifice shall cease,
brick and mortar church worship shall cease with the sound of all its
high tech sound systems, fanciful choreography and professional song,
the tithe and all offerings to these local churches shall cease, in
that day there shall be no more sermons and teachings, and Christian
Television and Radio shall cease. In
other words every work of man and every conscious carnal choice and
every willful thing that has been made and declared as the image and
likeness of God by men that believers have been compelled to partake
of, and bow to since the early church fell shall cease -- and this shall cause the great falling
away. For all those that are
addicted to all of these things shall have nothing left that they might
prop themselves up before the Lord – so they will simply fall away.
So then what shall remain?
One’s personal relationship with God, as what has developed or cultivated
in personal prayer, in personal worship and personal study of the word
of God that -- and these things shall they carry in them
and these things shall remain in them.
These altar of ones is not bound by a structure or geographical
location -- their altar
is wherever they are, and with whomsoever the Lord brings to share and
partake of it whether the Lord brings to you a Baptist a Roman Catholic
or even a Mormon all are created in His image and likeness and all are
precious in His sight and all thus deserve your fellowship companionship
and your eating with. When Christ prayed for one entire chapter before
He died that His body might be one – You can rest assured that this
will have to be fulfilled in households all over the globe just as it
was always intended before He cones again. Because most everything
we see that has been corrupted in the church that has been made with
hands today, will be returned once more to their rightful place and
pure form within the household and even upon the marital bed where the two shall be gathered – to present themselves, and
their households before the Lord.
Recently the Lord spoke in my ear a few things a few
things that have enthralled my soul. The one I will mention here is
that concerning the bride of Christ’s and in particular our brideship
unto Him. Those whom He would seek are those that have become meek and lowly of heart. He seeks that
those who are at the door of the marital chamber would willingly,
joyfully, and with great gladness, leave
their own personal desires and the desires that have been imposed on
her by others at the door. (As spoken of Rebekah once the bracelets
were clamped on her wrists, that she was no
longer to fulfill the desires and wants of her parents and relatives
from the house of Laban.)
That is, in our relationship with Christ all of
the bride's desires, wishes, wants, and even
her own will are to be left at the door, before entering – into
this so great a salvation. For
we have seen by the spirit that the bride of Christ is to abandon her
desires, not
unto a vacuum as has been preached by Jesse Penn Lewis, Watchman Nee
and a host of others, for there is no such
thing as a vacuum in Christ. (And
Christ himself speaks very negatively of concept of the self-emptying
of ones soul.) The truth of what Christ is seeking here in His beloved is
a joyful and willing decrease. And the
first cause of this decrease is not the fruit of a self-conscious and self-willed asceticism,
– that we can lift ourselves up by our own bootstraps into a
pseudo holiness. – But rather it is our learning of Him
that produces as its fruit and increase as
we come to longingly desire His desires His wishes and His wants in
us – as is becoming of any true bride.. – Of which Paul spake: I must decrease that He might increase.
In The Parable
Of The Empty House, Jesus begins speaking of a house having
had a demon cast out of it, and shortly thereafter the house then becomes
clean swept. Apparently this cleaning was through some agency of “conscious willfulness”
on the part of the homeowner, as unlike what is preached today, this
house didn’t just clean and sweep itself, while the homeowner played
video games, went off hunting and fishing, and in between spent some
quality time watching baseball and football games. Sometime shortly
after the Divine first cause, the filth and trash that was left behind
by this demon was cleaned up, repairs were made and the trash was removed
from the premises.
We note here that if this house had belonged to a Pharisee
he would have incessantly washed on the outside of the building, and
done a lot of grounds keeping, while leaving the inside of the house
looking like a dump, so in effect the house of a Pharisee would look
like a white-washed sepulcher, complete with all manner of rottenness
growing the on the floor, walls; and ceiling. Perhaps this is why we
don’t read of too many demon possessed Pharisees
in the Gospels.
(Though this may be hard
to discern, Christ in The Parable of the Empty
House is speaking against Talmudic Asceticism with all its trappings
of its self-abuse and it’s bottomless self-emptying void.)
We need to comment here that the subject matter of
this parable is NOT the demon possession of houses or people,
with demons oozing out of anywhere and anything just ready to possess
you, despite the fear mongering Pentecostals and Charismatics in deliverance
circles. – (Much of these notions had their origin some 130 years ago
with John Alexander Dowie.)
The Parable of the Empty House instead relates
strongly with The Parable of the Sower. In one we have the emissaries of the wicked
one hijacking the seed that was sown, and in the other we have
the emissaries of the wicked one breaking in and hijacking the entire
house.
In one what was hijacked was seed that was not being
committed – to the watering and nurturing of the depths of the soil
(We note here in this statement of Christ, that the enemy and
his minions do not do any digging for seed to steal. – These in fact,
only seek out what is carelessly laid out in the open for their taking
at will.)
In other parable what is hijacked is a house or we
shall add here Household that
was not committed to the watering and nurturing of Strongman of the House, which
first is Christ and the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, But this speaks also
of a husband that is a living and active high priest over the household
watering and nurturing his wife and children. (We
note here that the enemy and his minions do not seek out the house of
the Strongman or the household with high priest, but according to Christ’s
words here, these in fact only seek out houses, and households that
have been carelessly emptied as an end unto itself – and such houses
or households are open and exposed, to their be taken at will.)
2
Timothy 2:26 And
that they may (Possibly not definitely) recover themselves out
of the snare of the devil, who are
taken captive (Greek Ezo-Gremenoi, - Ezo is Zuos which means: To Be Alive, or Living. And Agreuo – or
Agra means:
To take in hunting by bow, spear or snare, or To catch fish by
hook spear or net. We also
note here that Ago means: To Force or Drive Away,
To Incite into a dangerous or careless behavior, To Drag Away,
To Separate, for the express purpose of being hunted down as prey, To
be stolen or To be seized as booty.)
While what we have here a very powerful and clear definition
of Ezo-Gremenoi; we know from other lessons that when a Greek word begins with “A”
the “A” usually means “not” --something. So even with all of this we are not down to a definitive word
that tells us what is not happening
or not being done here. In this
case we find the answer in the Greek word A-Gregor “A” - Not and “Gregor” To be watchful,
attentive, and vigilant.
So we see that as stated
in The Parable of the Sower and The
Parable of the House and now in 2 Timothy 2:26 That the “prey” or the “dust”
here that has been made into the “meat”
of the serpent and his minions, and this is due in large part to the
fruitless mediocrity of the Careless, those that are Not Watchful,
and Not Vigilant. We might further describe this walk before
the Lord of the empty house or empty household as a: Non-fruitful,
self-serving spirituality that feigns quality of spirit, spiritual depth,
and nobility of spirit towards the things of God – but in reality it
is no more than the illusion in the image and likeness of Talmudic Pharisees.
–
The direct application of
this is that pastors and teachers and ministries that preach and teach
their high-sounding empty words, and the host
of false promises that they neither have power to deliver, nor do they
themselves walk in.
Is this imagined or are these
things so?
1
Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but
such as is common to man: but God
is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye
may be able to bear it. (Here
Paul states that the evil and perverse conditions that are described
in the word of God – are common to all
men. And that within all these common deeds that are described in the bible – no one was bound
by fate or lacked free will to do any
of the evil or corrupt deeds that they did. But that all could have
at any time turned to and sought the Lord and the Lord by His grace
they would have given then a way out. So that conversely these men and
women whether they were preachers or prophets or the common believers
of scripture, their deeds were evil, not by accident, but by design.
In scripture all were the way they were good and evil, and did the deeds
they did good and evil, because that was exactly the way they want to
be, and those were the exactly the deeds they wanted to do.
So this common
reality of absolute sin and corruption of the ministry – that for the
most part has been hid from the sight of the common believer is devastatingly
described in the Gospels by no less than Jesus Christ Himself.
Luke
11:52 Woe
unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the
key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering
in ye hindered. (What we are saying
is this was not just a one time at a point of time, by a certain group
of men – as is preached with great relish and pride. We are stating
that these things have been spoken as ensamples of things common to
men that surrounded and sought to overwhelm Christ and the Apostles
and that now surrounds and seeks to overwhelm all believers.)
– Many would strenuously disagree
here, because of personal bias towards a pastor or a particular preacher
or ministry. --
The Lord would say these
do so by invoking over themselves a willfully blindness – and how that
many times these have heard the still small voice of God’s spirit striving
with them as they have heard their pastors and teachers the pass on
corrupt and perverse things they have spoken – and they have stopped
their ears from the voice of the Lord – saying it instead was the voice
of the devil speaking condemnation. The truth concerning this bias is
that in it these men and women bear witness against themselves, as they
love the darkness that is preached and teached
and they knowingly call this darkness light.
And having flooded their beings with darkness they now fear walking
away from their lamp of darkness, – and having to work out their own
salvation with fear and trembling and enter by themselves into the priesthood
of all believers by themselves – and take up His yoke and learn of Him
for their self. – And this is more than these can bear so they deny
these things are do – to their own damnation.
Isaiah
28:5-6 In
that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a
diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his
people, (This is the bride of Christ, those who indeed have entered
into becoming kings and priests before God, whoare
called the remnant, the few, and the Ek-lectos of God) And
for a spirit of judgment (That
fell upon the 70 elders) to him that sitteth in (The) judgment (Seat of Moses), and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate (Of the enemy.)
We clearly see here this
prophecy is pertaining to “The high calling of God in the church.” We see it is “The Call to be Kings and Priests unto God,”
and that this calling as Christ declared “Shall only be partaken of by a few”
or the “residue” of the whole of what we see as the earthly church made
by hands. We further see that this calling is spiritual and entails
the infilling and moving of the Spirit particularly in the area of judgment,
-- which we have discussed in the movings
and visitations of God’s Spirit – as God has declared it in Genesis
as His Spirit striving with men so that this judgment unto true sanctification
must first come upon this residue this remnant this few before this
judgment in the Ek-Lectos of God it can become
a strength to those who would war against gates of the kingdom of darkness
with the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimonies of what
God has wrought in them.
Isaiah 28:7-8 But (Instead of the Ek-Klesia having entered into what is spoken of above, Isaiah
by the eye of the Spirit discerns here what neither the blind shepherds
nor their blind sheep can see.) they also
have erred through (A self-seeking, willful drunkenness and orgy of the flesh as if
by) wine, and through strong drink (So that they are) are out of the way (Of salvation.); The priest and the prophet
have erred through (this) strong drink, they are swallowed
up of wine (Of the cup of abominations of the Great whore), they are out of the way through (because of this) strong drink; they err in vision, (they have had dreams and visions
and they proceed to prophesy falsely about them.) they stumble in (teaching and declaring righteous and) judgment. For all tables (Upon which they serve their bread to the hungry) are full of vomit and filthiness, (In
Hebrew filthiness means: feces and urine. – Note that this also is the
identical charge as to what is in the cup of the Great Whore in Revelation.)
so that there
is no place clean. (This is an allusion to the uncleaness of
the Pharisees then and now and the utter defilement of all who partake
of the regurgitated Talmudic doctrines and teachings they offer their
sheep.)
As we declared above Isaiah by the eye of the Spirit discerns here
what neither the blind shepherds nor their blind sheep can see. – Understand
that in the temple in Jerusalem
there were never tables set up where priests and prophets broke bread
together while laying in their own vomit and “covered with” filthiness (Hebrew – feces, and urine.) God is speaking here of a vileness
and utter corruption that has overthrown the entire ministry in the
Ek-Klesia from its self-proclaimed blind prophets to its self
proclaimed blind pastors and teachers that bear their rule by them.
And in this exact frame of reference spoken of above we find that
in this place of vomit covered tables and filth covered priests and
prophets that this is a nursery where they feed babes in Christ – and
God asks:
Isaiah 28:9-10 (Seeing these
abominations in the Ek-klesia. To) Whom
shall He teach knowledge? and whom shall He
make to understand (His
true) doctrine? (This is the utter rejection of the earthly Church that is made by
hands and this is the breaking off of its corrupt and withered branches.) Them that are weaned from (Not weaned from, Hebrew To suck) the
milk, and drawn (Hebrew To take) from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon
precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a
little: (God says here that He is going
to take these babes away from this and to himself and His own breast.
And this is what these babes partake of that come
out from
the “Meno” of the House of Filth and Vomit
(Of the great whore) and come under the “Meno” of the Household of the Lord.
These grow in grace as they give suck and take from the breast of the
Holy Spirit.)
Psalm
8:2-9 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength. Because of thine (God’s) enemies, (satan and his angels)
that thou (Those who have entered the Priesthood
of All Believers -- the Ek-lectos of God)
mightest still (Bring to silence) the enemy and the avenger (Both being attributes of satan.)
The priest and the prophet have erred through (this) strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out
of the way through (because of this)
strong drink; they
err in vision, (they have lying dreams and visions and prophesy falsely.)
they stumble in (teaching and declaring
righteous) judgment. For all tables (Upon
which they serve their bread to the hungry) are full of vomit and filthiness,
so that there is no place clean. (For my babes and sucklings to feed.)
By the eye of the Spirit
Isaiah sees the true fruit of the “Conscious” and “Willful” choices of the flesh, and on this regard we have the whole
of Scripture and the whole of Church History that testifies of these
very things are indeed common to men and have occurred time after time
after time despite the best intentions of men.
If we were to turn once more
to The Parable of the Empty House, we would see that the
selfish, self-serving walk depicted here directly correlates to the
interpretation Christ gave in The Parable of the Sower
concerning the states of heart of a believer in the
hardened ground, the stony ground, and the thorny or weed filled ground.
– in each of these states the field was empty and fruitless – just as
the house and what ground could have been productive in the kingdom
of God instead was hijacked to be used as a byword in all the other
fields and by this a creeping rot has occurred that has gone from household
to household and church to church.
One final point on The Parable Of
The Empty House. When one has been delivered from the “House
of the Serpent,” it is more than that they are no longer dwelling or
abiding in there, it is that they no longer "Meinete" or "Meno" the serpent and his minions.
They
are no longer under the authority or rulership of the serpent. The serpent
no longer defines the rules for, speaks for, or negotiates for them,
because these are no longer the serpent’s servant or slave.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 --Ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
You have been purchased with the inesteemable blood
of Christ.
Matthew 11:29 Take My
yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
When Christ spoke these
words he did not speak of us yoking ourselves, much
less enabling ourselves in this by our own “connscious mental efforts”
or “wllfulness of the flesh” – Instead Christ here declares that this
yoke is His own.
Ephesians
2:8-10 For by grace (Charis) are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: it is the gift (This
Charis-ma issues forth) of God: Not of (Mens) works (Regardless of whether these works are produced by one’s perceived
mental tenacity, or physical prowess.), lest any man
should boast. (This boasting is a
glorying in one’s self, and one’s sufficiency, which are polar opposite
of Christ being the glory of the Father, and the Church being the glory
of Christ. and the wife being the glory of her husband.)
So when
Christ speaks of “Take my yoke upon
you” the
“taking” here is only in our willing submission (And I see here by the Spirit that willingness is the joyful
willingness of a small child to do the will of their mother or father.) as opposed to our “willfulness.”. – For
the actual receiving of this yoke is not of ourselves just as
the yoke is not of our making. So the receiving of it is by
the grace of Christ and He gives His yoke to whom
He will. And as such the yoke is “something spiritually
imparted.”
To the man of the flesh this yoke appears as ethereal in nature,
without substance and thus unreliable -- just as the wind in its comings and
goings. – And to the consternation
of the man of the flesh neither the “Charis” of God, nor the yoke of Christ can be held
in the hand and thus placed under their control, neither can they speak
of these with any certainty as to their seeming appearance or disappearance
in individuals, households and churches.
John 3:8 The wind bloweth
(The Spirit breatheth)
where it listeth, and thou hearest
the sound (report)
thereof, but (The man of
the flesh) canst not tell
whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so
is every one that is born of the Spirit.
1
Corinthians 2:13-15 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom
teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
(By the breath of the Spirit) comparing (speaking) spiritual things with (Those that are) spiritual. But the natural
man (As Nicodemas) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
To the
man of the Spirit the yoke of Christ and the grace of God have substance
depth height and breadth, and as such it can be felt upon one’s self,
and sensed when it is upon others as well.
This is
how we are able to discern one another by the Spirit. And this though
is carried in the statement of Christ “My sheep know my voice.” This
is a intuitive knowing, at one time it was
not uncommon to see husbands and wives so “in tune” or “at one” with
each whether saved or unsaved they knew each others words and each other’s
thoughts. Christ Himself was so “in tune” or so “at one” with the Father
that He knew His words and thoughts at all times.
Psalm
133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together
in unity! It is like the precious ointment
upon the head, that ran down upon the beard,
even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As
the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended
upon the mountains of Zion:
for there the
LORD commanded the blessing, even life for
evermore. Right now we are speaking of
the unity of Christ and the father – and here we see Christ was given
life forevermore. We see also concerning the subject of the church and
brethren flowing together in unity that as the Apostle John declares;
when this occurs (As sporadic as it does) that those involved become
partakers of the cleansing of Christ blood. What do you suppose in a
marriage occurs when the husband and wife flow together both in flesh
and the Spirit?
Elsewhere
in Ezekiel and the Book of Revelation this yoke of Grace from God is
declared as a mark not made with hands.
A mark that is only visible to the Lord, the Angels of God and men and
women that walk in the Spirit. And as the time of the end draws
near it becomes increasing important that we recognize this unseen mark
of God in one another.
If one
wishes to take His yoke upon them and learn of Him, one is first to
learn of Christ’s meekness. Generally speaking that means that those
that are of “the moody ox company” or “the stubborn ass company” who
will not willingly bow the knee to His quiet call, nor bow their head
so in submission that Christ may slip His yoke upon them, – Christ
will simply pass them by and go with another else will be obedient
and submissive. (From dawn to
dusk
Psalm 131:2 Surely I have behaved and
quieted myself, (Become
meek and lowly of heart) as a child that is weaned (Breast fed) of his mother: my soul (Before the Lord) has even (Become) as a weaned (Nursing) child.
Christ seeks those that
are meek and lowly of heart that would nuzzle Hs hand as they “take”
His yoke upon them.
While it may be true that Jesus sees this in the Spirit where it
is not yet in the flesh, men routinely twist the good graces and mercies
of the Lord to their own conceits. – Having no fear of God, that they
in fact are not the only game in town, and that just as Christ broke
off the branches of Israel, and Christ is not forced (Despite what is written in Talmudic/Calvinistic doctrine) to deal with any one of us.
On the
other side there are certainly cases in Scripture where God will force
His yoke upon someone at certain times and for a specific purposes,
but such is the few and far between.
But in the end, despite God using them however powerfully and
profoundly, many of these same vessels were afforded no more special
graces as in Balaam, Eli, and King Saul. As these men bided away their time away having fun in the sun –
but eventually in their lives (As we have seen
played out in the lives of countless careless half-hearted believers)
the night comes. And the serpent and his minions come to take
back what was once theirs and they break in the house/ household, and
plunder and bind and enslave all that are therein.
Isaiah 37:28-30
I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, -- therefore
will I put my hook in thy nose,
-- and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
The truth is once one is delivered, after the glory
of the Lord fades, the serpent will return seeking out this one and
that one. And those that have not been truly washed and cleansed, and
he will seek to place a hook in their jaw throw nets and ropes upon
them and then drag them back into the house of the serpent
from when they came, and back under the serpent’s “Meno” -- his cruel rulership and bondage..
-- And more times than not such a one becomes far more corrupted, and
pulled far deeper into the mire of sin, than they were before they had
escaped the house of the serpent the first time.
Sadly if you have been a Christian for any amount of
time you have seen this very thing occur time after time with people
who you loved who once served the Lord.
.
Despite men’s best “conscious” and “willful”
efforts, there is no third alternative between the
kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light. Today
is a day when all lines between in the world and church have been blurred
out by an ever-creeping moral relativism. Who among these
national preachers and ministries in the land cries out against these
things? Who among these national preachers and ministries in the
land fears the Lord above men and preaches the truth to their
own hurt? God help us. God deliver the church from the lying lips
of these hirelings.
Speaking once more about the Bride of Christ giving
up her personal desires, her personal wishes, her personal expectations,
and her personal wants: We want to make it very clear here that we are
mot speaking of or implying that she should do so that she might be
the personification of The Parable of Empty House in all its
acetic Talmudic glory. Boasting of her self-emptiness, glorying in
how holy she has become through her
abusing her self and her flesh, and extolling how she has made
herself feel just all so worthy. (How very
Roman Catholic.)
No! We are saying
that the bride in giving up, her desires, and does so only to take up
her husband’s desires, and make them her own.
John 4:34 Jesus saith
unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and
to finish His work.
In the bride of Christ in abandoning her will, and
taking up her Lord and Master’s will, needs as Christ did with the Father’s
to make His will and the works when and how He desires is the focus
of her life and breath. In John
4:34 we see here that Christ draws spiritual and physical sustenance
from discerning hearing and then doing the will of the Father. He was
partaking of the breath/life of God that is in every word that proceedeth.
For as God in the beginning breathed or spoke life
(Speaking is breathing while making sound) and the common dirt rose
and became a living soul – so as we seek God and discern the voice of
the Lord, and begin to exercise ourselves in hearing more than just
His breath our the sound of a mighty rushing wind, we become partakers
of the very life and substance of these words in our being obedient.
And the life and substance is what men call ministry --
In this same manner the Church individually and by
households needs to come to this discerning, hearing and obedience regardless
of personal cost so that Christ’s will and His desire become their "meat"
and “drink.”
This is the word becoming flesh.
In this same manner as Christ himself partook spiritually
and physically as he heard and obeyed the will that proceedeth
out of the mouth of the Father. – In other words He made it His delight
to do the will of the Father, and joyfully sought the Father’s face
and communed with him moment by moment. Jesus did not only do this that
the Father’s will and desires might be His own, but Christ discipled
or disciplined Himself so much so to the Father so that Jesus’ words
were not His own but His words were the Father’s who sent Him.
John
5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing:
as I hear (Of the Father) I judge: and my judgment is
just; because I seek not mine own will, but
the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John
6:38 For
I came down from heaven, not to do mine own
will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 14:21 She that hath (Spent day and night to discern
and cultivate a hearing of) my commandments,
and keepeth (Treasureth
and delighteth in obeying)
them,
This is my true betrothed bride that loveth (Agapeo-eth) me: and This is the betrothed bride that loveth (Agapeo-eth) me shall be loved (Agapeo-eth) of my Father, and I will love (Agapeo) her, and will manifest myself to her.
Christ
is declaring here that agape involves a spiritual attentiveness, in
discerning His voice, Hearing His voice, and then in that which is spiritual
becoming physical -- in obedience to His voice in a joyful disbursing
of the sustenance you have received in your loving of your neighbor
as yourself.
Even though Christ put aside His own will and His own
desires, to the place of this continually speaking the words that proceedeth from the mouth of the Father – Christ still was
a distinct person with a distinct /unique personality. God is not seeking
personality murder in this. What we are speaking of here is the true
meaning of Christ being the “glory” of God --
Christ was the outshining or the praiseworthiness of the Father because
he did these things. So also
the church is to be the “glory” of Christ. And of this Paul and
the writer of Hebrews speak of that we do not yet seek all things under
Christ’s feet -- and this is one of those areas.
This is why the issue of being yoked together with
unbelievers is especially difficult. Because God’s commandments of
obedience, submission , nurturing and feeding
etc by a believing wife towards her husband does not change one
iota whether one’s husband is saved or unsaved. And this can be said
also of a husband of an unbelieving wife.
If putting the yoke of Christ upon you and seeking
to walk as Christ walked, with the same obedience as He served God is
viewed as an unreasonable bondage to you – you can chose to depart and
go your own way – as many of Christ’s disciples decided His sayings
were hard and left Him.
John 6:64-66 But there are some of
you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were
that believed not, and who should betray him. And
he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no
man can come unto me, (Greek El-Thein. El To come or To return, Thein
–Tithemi –
To lay down or To lay aside. Christ here is saying that no on can totally
commit or total surrender)
except it were given (De-Do-Menon. De On the other hand, Also, or Now, Do
– Didomai
To be given, To be bestowed, To be presented Meno To dwell,
sojourn, or abide Under
The rule or The influence, or The authority of the House of Christ.
) unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples
went back, and walked no more with him.
Here “hidden in the Greek” Christ ascribes new and
powerful attributes to our discussion of the word “Meno”. For we see here that those who Christ seeks that would be his
disciples are the whosoevers are to come under
the rule, and under the influence of the House of Christ, – But here we can see that there is these great
masses of false-disciples,
that though outwardly they confessed and professed that they were His
disciples, and that these great masses of false-disciples showed up
at all the right meetings to be seen with Him as He taught and worked
His great signs and wonders (Just as Arron did with Moses before the incident
with the Golden Calf where he caused all of Isreal
the worship the Beast, the Image of the beast and the symbol of the
beast.) – There was ONE great outward
difference between these and the twelve Apostles and the seventy – these
did now follow the requirement that they had to as His disciples dwell,
sojourn, and physically abide with Him 24/7 and thereby walk as He so
walked.
And it is here that Christ declares for those who have
eyes to see and ears to hear the difference between the many of the false-disciple
and the few of the true-disciple.
The Meno of the many false-disciples
is the Meno of the Pharisee for it has it’s origin in man and the flesh. Therefore the
MENO of the false-disciple and the
Pharisee is driven by zealots, so that these outwardly demonstrate
their zealotry one to another in how they profess and confess their
belief in God before men. The
Meno of the false-disciple and the Pharisee is also one that
is ever-shrouded in the “spiritualizing away” of their duties and obedience before God – so that the true
nature of their corrupt walk is ever-cloaked
and hid before the eyes and ears of men.
The Meno of the few of the true-disciples is the Meno of Christ Himself which has its origin in God and the Spirit.
Which Meno Christ declares is De-Do-Menon
– “The gift of Meno”
from the Father. This Meno
of Christ is Not driven by men but is one that is driven or that proceedeth forth the Father. So that the Meno of Christ
is after the Spirit
is as a sweet savor that is well pleasing to Father, rather
religious stench that rises from the MENO of men. As Christ
walking in this true Meno from His heavenly Father, He heard the word that proceedeth from the mouth of the Father, and through this
Gift
of MENO from
the Father, Christ walked in submissive obedience, Christ made himself
of no reputation, Christ sought not His own,
and Christ clothed Himself in righteousness. So are His true-disciples
also to walk having entered into this Gift of Meno.
And so a wife is to walk
having entered into the Meno or her husband,
whether He is saved or unsaved.
Over
a year ago in another article I wrote: I perceive by the Spirit that
these “other disciples” in fact did not sell all to follow Him. That
they did not travel on foot extensively following Christ, and that they
did not sleep in the rain and under the stars at night. Instead at night
each one went to their own homes. (When I wrote this I only had in mind the passage where Christ says:
Foxes have holes and birds have nests but the son
of man has nowhere to lay his head.) At the time I had no idea about the meaning
of the word “Meno.” Or how the understanding
this word that we see Christ addressing this very subject with his wanna-be disciples and followers in John chapters 5-6.
Oh how manifold
are the blessings of the Lord! Oh how when He speaks He does confirm
and confirm and confirm.
This is why I feel so at peace and so at rest with what I write.
These “Many” other
disciples were from up and coming families, and the well to do. They
were following the young and handsome prophet from Galilee.
They were doing so because it had become fashionable to do so. Rather than being disciples indeed, these were
a multitude of fair-weather fad followers of Christ that when the sun
rose melted into the earth as the multitude of the manna in the wilderness.
Look now at the following verses:
John 15:7 If ye abide (Meno) in me, and My words abide (Meno)
in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (Knowing now what
Christ is demanding of us in using the word “Meno” here, this greatly
alters our perception of not only what Christ is truly seeking, but
of how we have fallen woefully short in our walks. And because of this
our prayers are: Weak, sickly, and many of them sleep.)
John 5:38 And
ye have not His (The Father’s) word
abiding
(Meno) in you: for
whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not. (Here we see that
despite the outward
confession and profession of the faith of these – these received NOT
the “Gift of Meno.” And because these “Meno-ed” NOT, these could
NEVER inwardly believe. – So we see here also that faith and belief
stem from one’s “Meno”
How can a wife profess that she loves, believes in, and trusts
her husband when she never has never forsaken her own Meno and the Meno of her father’s
House and come under her Husband’s Meno?
It would be a very powerful thing for a wife
to come up to her husband and say “I Meno
you.”
The Meno
of Abiding (Part 1)
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue (Greek Meinete) in my word,
then are ye my disciples indeed;
2
Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that
man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
1
Corinthians 2:13-15 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom
teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
We see also concerning the subject of the church and
brethren flowing together in unity that as the Apostle John declares;
when this occurs (As sporadic as it does) that those involved become
partakers of the cleansing of Christ blood.
It would be a very powerful thing for a wife
to come up to her husband and say “I Meno
you.”
