Christian Supremacy Movement
Concerning questions that have
been posed as to the biblical basis for the actions of Ministries,
Church organizations and individual Christians involved in political
maneuverings and power grabbing -- categorically neither Christ
nor His apostles would have ever been involved in politics.
John 18:36 Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world:
if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight.
Those who do not chose to understand
this passage as part of an agenda of willful blindness for personal
gain amid supposed “bible believing” Churches and denominations
is a quite startling development
that began like most of the other virulent deviations
from the words of Christ that cropped up in the early 1980’s
The ones who adhere to this darkness
as light are scrabbling in the
slime pits for political power, seeking legislation for empowerment
and sending forth lobbyists to pervert politicians
by offering then bribes, favors that many times are illegal for politicians to do themselves,
showering them with praise – that is an abomination before
the Lord, speaking to
them cunningly crafted words of deceit and offering, in turn
for currying favor, to gain a place in these legislators ears,
and to ultimately have legislative power over unbelievers. These
efforts are running into the millions.
Why do these ministries do these
evil and perverse things instead of sending out missionaries
and evangelists – to the most needy
places in the nation like New York City,
Chicago, Los
Angeles, and Washington DC?
The answer is that these “Evangelical
ministries churches and denominations no longer have faith in
God. They have departed
from their forbearers who lived by faith trusting God for all
their needs as they pioneered Churches all across this nation,
from city to city, town to town, village to village, and hamlet
to hamlet. Those that live today want no part of this but seek
rather through abuse of the Federal Government to institutionalize
themselves as a state protected religion being granted super
citizenship rights.
What rights did Christ claim?
What privilege did Christ seek? If we are truly his disciples
which these are clearly not –then the servant
can not be above the Master.
But
just try to tell this that to the militant followers of Jerry
Falwell, The Christian Coalition, Pat Robertson, and the disciples
of latest inductee to the Christian Supremacy Movement Dr. James Dobson and you will discover
that a lot of these peoples “Christian rhetoric” is little more
than Church meeting rhetoric, these wolves in sheep’s clothing
people are highly manipulative, self-seeking
self-serving and
self-aggrandizing. And woe unto any who dare question what they
are seeking to do, or their motives in seeking to do the evil
in the name of the Lord that they do.
Here
recently we have had a huge scandal with evangelical preacher
that pastured a church of thousands, was the head of a denomination,
and the head of a huge lobbying machine – the man was utterly
corrupt in every way shape and form and led on his wife and
the members of his church – and yet when he fell none cried
for his wife and children and none cried for the sheep that
were dying in his church – instead a cry rose up across the
land of what a powerful lobbying voice was lost and who shall
replace him?
How
could anything be farther away from the words and actions of
Jesus Christ?
Consider that before Christ
began His ministry He forsook all.
Jesus
left His father, mother, brothers, sisters, and brethren first
before he ever asked his disciples to do so. But
wasn’t all that Christ walked away from. For Jesus Christ was
also the first born in His earthly family – yes and that had
great significance to His standing in the house of Joseph of
Nazareth. Christ as the firstborn was entitled to the seat as
the head of the greater household that is over the households
also of his other brothers and sisters (Greek A-Delphos. Adelphos is used 5 times in Genesis 4 in speaking of Cain
and Able.)
as the family spokesman. Christ also had legal claim to the
family inheritance in the House of Joseph of Nazareth as well.
– That would have consisted of 1) The family business, 2) The
family home, 3) And whatever other wealth and possessions Joseph
had accumulated over those 30 years.
So
here we see that Christ not only left His father, mother, brothers,
sisters, and brethren to follow God but He left the houses and
lands of his inheritance as well.
Because
of this – we see that Jesus was not at all like the Pharisees
in that He first walked in the commandments he received
of the Lord, long before he ever issued them to His disciples.
And we can say with some certainty that Jesus Christ gave up
everything He owned or had rights to in this world, so that
in actuality according to the Gospels Jesus during his entire
ministry only possessed His sandals, the one garment He wore,
a cloak, and possibly a walking stick.
Mark 6:3 Is not this (Jesus)
the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses,
and of Juda, and Simon? And are not
his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
(I have read in Justin Martyr’s writings in
160 AD that Jesus was a carpenter of farm implements – more
particularly he tells us that Jesus had made ox yokes, and plows.)
Philippians
2:7-8 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form
of a servant,
and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion
as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross.
It
is an indisputable fact that Christ made
Himself
of no reputation. And it is also an indisputable that before
Christ began his ministry He forsook houses, lands, family,
and His rightful inheritance as the firstborn of Joseph of Nazareth.
I want you to see that like Abram, Jesus willing gave all that
up to become a sojourner
seeking a kingdom that
was not made with hands.
But we need to see something even
more powerful than this, by taking a closer examination of what actually transpired
during Christ’s ministry. After Jesus gave up houses and lands
and was baptized by John the Baptist Jesus went into the wilderness
to be tempted of the devil.
Matthew 4:1-3, 8-10 Then was Jesus led up of the
Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when
he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward
an hungered. And when the tempter came
to him . . . 8Again,
the devil taketh
him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth
him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things
will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him,
Get thee hence, satan:
for it is written, Thou shalt worship
the Lord thy God, and him only shalt
thou serve. (Here the carnal preachers and
teachers of this world have for generations carried a lot of
water for the devil in how they have traditionally interpreted
this passage. Yes, it is true that Christ here
has rebuked the devil for offering Him all the kingdoms of this
world and the earthly glory, the earthly wealth, and the earthly
power that they represent – in exchange for physically bowing
to the devil and acknowledging his false lordship over the world
and all of the things of this world.
But all the serpent’s
temptations here were laced with subtlety. – So that if Christ
rose up in anger and indignation as the self righteous militant
followers of Jerry Falwell, the Christian Coalition, Pat Robertson and Dr James
Dobson, and would say: You know what devil, not only am I going
to not bow to you over the world and the things of the world,
but now I’m mad. And I’m going to personally ruin your little
monopoly you’ve been running here. I’m going to personally physically
strip every one of these kingdoms away from you one by one.
I ‘m going to use miracles, the voice of God, and all the angels
at my disposal, and every nation is going to become my disciples
here and now. And devil after I take all of them over with
my revival business ministry, I’ll have all their riches, all
their wealth, and all their armies working for me.
And when I get done I’ll tear up your deed to this whole
world. and me and my Christian Supremacist boys down at the local church are going to get
together a posse and ride hard and party hardy, as we take the
rule this world from you with a fist of iron, and strike terror
in any dirty sinners that still won’t believe. (Does this
sound at all like Christ talking in the Gospels? Doesn’t it
rather sound strangely like a lot of teaching that you’ve heard,
by a lot of notable evangelistic types? )
What
was going on here is the devil was tempting Christ to use the
power of God to consume upon His own lusts. Aka – for His own
desires (Bread, in the second temptation to put the devil in his place and
force him to save Christ)
Luke
4:23 And
he said unto them, Ye will surely say
unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: (Christ did not heal himself on the way to the Cross and neither
did he remove his wounds even after he was raised from the dead
and in his glorified body)
In
the third temptation the devil showed Christ in a vision all
the kingdoms of the earth and said It is mine to give to whom
I will If you will bow before me I will give you all these kingdoms
– to this Christ responded thou shalt only worship the Lord
your God. (These preachers and ministries
are in truth bargaining with the devil for little bits and pieces
of the kingdom of the United
States, which the serpent is
all too happy to sell and resell to all that would come to deal
with him.)
We
need to now see that during Christ’s ministry as the Messiah
and the heir apparent to the throne of David that he was continually
offered the throne of David by all around him. It is in the
word Messiah, it is in The Son of David, It is the question
that Pontius Pilot asks, it is the rage of the Pharisees it
is the words on the lips of all of Israel as Jesus rides in on the donkey.
It is the words continually on the lips of his carnal blind
disciples as they fight continually about their positions in
Christ’s earthly kingdom, Even during the last supper they fought
over it, and after the resurrection the question again comes
up once more.
John 10:23-25 And Jesus
walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. Then came the
Jews round about him, and said unto him, How
long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell
us plainly.
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works
that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.
For
over three decades I have heard preachers time and time again
proclaim that Christ at any time could have taken what was rightfully
His, that Christ could have taken the throne of David. And all
will say a hearty Amen. And with this same early sensual logic
the same preachers tell us that it is not Christ’s will that
any of us be poor. That it is not Christ’s will that any of
us be sick, and that Christ has given the world into the hands
of the Church that we can rule and reign with him.
What
I am going to say now has been a mystery and I cannot expect
anyone to understand it except that the Father has given it
to them. It is utterly false that Christ could have taken the
throne of David at anytime. As he has forsaken his natural father
mother sisters brothers houses and
lands and made Himself of no reputation, so too did Christ forsake
his inheritance as the Messiah and Heir to David’s throne. Forsaking
those Jerusalem, the palace
of Herod
the lands and brethren that would at his word sworn instant
allegiance to Him. And on this point the devil goaded and tempted
Him daily to seize upon it.
Simon
Peter one day rebuked Christ that he should not die, and Christ
rebuked Satan for speaking through Peter’s mouth. His disciples
were speaking the words of the wicked one regarding an earthly
kingdom, the people of Israel were speaking the enemy’s words,
the Pharisees and Priests and Christ was not taken in by any
of this talk. He refused to accept any of it. Instead Jesus
testified days before he was crucified: “Foxes have holes and
birds have nests but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.
As
the disciples were before they were converted after Christ rose
from the dead so are the preachers and teachers of this day.
They continually preach and teach the words of the wicked one.
And what are those words?
They
are that we can do what the Master did not and still be his
servants.
They
are that we cannot give up houses or lands, brothers, sisters,
and our earthly inheritances and still be a disciple of Christ.
That
as a member of the Church that we can love mammon and the things
of this world and still be a disciple
of Christ. That we can exalt ourselves, come in our own names,
exalt our own ministries, receive the praise of men, exalt other
people’s ministries, and still be a disciple of Christ. And that we can learn the words of others and teach men to do so and
still be the disciple of Christ.
As
the disciples were confused about Christ ruling an earthly kingdom
before they were converted after Christ rose from the dead so
are the preachers and teachers of this day are confused about
the Church being called to rule and reign as an earthly kingdom
here and now. And this is of increasing significance in a church
that ever increasingly is preaching greater corruption in the
area of financial wealth and earthly prosperity and a physical
earthly kingdom.
Jesus
said the servant is not above the master. If our Master forsook
all his earthly rights, and goods to seek the excellency
of God wandering the fields and villages with no certain home
and that He himself had to pray for His daily bread -- where
does this put us? Whose disciple are we if we possess what He
Himself put off and counted all as loss? Jesus said” “No man
can have two masters and yet we have more than one. Jesus said:
“You cannot be my disciple and serve – money, or the things
of this world and yet we do. I we are not Christ’s disciple,
If Jesus is not our master than who’s
servant are we and to whom do we belong?
Mark 10:28-30 Then Peter began to say
unto him, Lo, we have left all, and
have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say
unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren,
or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands,
for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold
now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers,
and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world
to come eternal life.
Luke 5:11 And when they had brought
their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
Luke 14:26-17 If any man come to me,
and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children,
and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot
be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come
after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever
he be of you that forsaketh not all
that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
In the early 1970’s Evangelicals used to
sing
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, no turning back
Take this whole world but give me Jesus
Take this whole world but give me Jesus
Take this whole world but give me Jesus
No I won’t turn back, I won’t turn back.
How could this whole movement in a single
generation have gone so far astray?
